Forecast 2025: overnight tourism on track

The latest edition of Forecast shows that 2025 is largely in line with previous expectations, with overnight tourism growing by 2.5% to over 52 million overnight guests from home and abroad. That’s an increase of 1.3 million guests but represents more moderate growth than before 2020. This growth is mainly due to strong inbound tourism. The number of international overnight guests rose to 22 million, a 4.3% increase, helped by recovery in the UK and the US. Domestic tourism remains stable, growing slightly by 1% and accounting for over 30 million guests.

Forecast 2035 offers updated long-term insights into overnight tourism up to 2035, with forecasts by province for the first time. These data support policymakers in sustainable and targeted tourism development.
