Theme years and international events

Every year, NBTC focuses on a special theme or international event in the marketing of Holland. This creates additional opportunities to showcase the brand Holland to foreign and domestic tourists. Events and theme years ensure additional publicity for our country and offer the possibility to combine marketing efforts. This focus and economies of scale realise more promotional power to attract extra tourists to Holland.

Every two years the focus is on a major event. The primary objective of an international event is to attract extra visitors to the Netherlands. A joint international marketing and promotion campaign also produces a wave of free publicity at home and abroad.
