Tourism and business travel market

The Netherlands cannot be all things to all people, but it can be very special for certain target groups. Every visitor will have different reasons for every stay in the Netherlands. Therefore, we have made our offering accessible by dividing it into clusters that deliver a certain experience. We have defined five clusters for the tourist.

Besides promoting Holland as a leisure destination, NBTC endeavours to spotlight Holland as a business destination. The objective is to attract more business visitors to the Netherlands and to get a better international ranking for business meetings. To achieve this objective NBTC launched a campaign called 'Fresh Dutch Views'. Under this banner Holland is being positioned as a refreshing destination for business and private visits alike. Two PMPCs are being used in the international market: Let's Meet and Be Inspired.

Theme years and international events

We use theme years to spotlight a collection of features of the Netherlands to stimulate especially publicity in domestic and foreign media.

Every two years the focus is on a major event. The primary objective of an international event is to attract extra visitors to the Netherlands. A joint international marketing and promotion campaign also produces a wave of free publicity at home and abroad.
